Multi-Level Quality Review Process

Athreon transcriptionists carefully proofread each document before delivery. Unless otherwise requested by the client, Athreon doesn’t produce documents in draft form. Additionally, following transcription, jobs with issues that need further review are escalated to QA. A QA specialist will attempt to resolve any issues flagged by the transcriptionist. Items that cannot be resolved with 100% certainty are brought to the client’s attention.

Technology & Quality

In addition to staffing the best qualified transcriptionists to type your audio files, we also use the latest technology. Our transcription platform ensures document quality in 3 distinct ways:

  • Automation: Our system automatically populates many routine pieces of data like the dictator’s name, header information and dates. This reduces repetitive data-entry tasks that are prone to human error.
  • Structure: Formats are always consistent since our system uses structured templates. Likewise, many aesthetic items, such as bolding, underlining and capitalization, are coded into the document structure so that transcriptionists do not have to remember to apply these styles.
  • Accuracy: Spell check and grammar check are automatically run at the completion of each document. This significantly reduces the chances of errors arriving on the client’s desk. Custom dictionaries are also populated with industry-specific terminology to further ensure precision.

Quality & Speech Recognition

We understand some clients have had negative prior experiences with substandard quality reports produced by automated speech recognition (ASR) technology. While Athreon’s ASR technology is among the best available, and while it is highly accurate and continuously evolving, we perceive it as a production tool. Our ASR technology is not a substitute for skilled human labor. As such, any draft that our ASR system generates is carefully reviewed by a human editor prior to client delivery. This ensures that regardless if a job was produced by a human being or a computer, high-quality outputs are consistent.

Production Labor Choice

Athreon is a company with global resources. We offer both domestic and international labor pools. Clients that do not want their work leaving its country of origin may make this request and we will apply only the requested production resources.

Quality Audits

We securely pair each audio file and transcript together online. This gives clients the ability to listen to their dictation and simultaneously compare it to the transcript we’ve produced. For any inaudible portions, Athreon leaves a time stamp in case the client wishes to listen to flagged portions of the file.

Client Alerts

Any documents that contain inaudible portions or contradictory information are brought to the attention of the client. No guesswork is made when it comes to the accuracy and completeness of your files. Documents that require client attention are flagged for review and are separated from jobs that have no issues.
